A work in progress

This year, I was hacked n February. I have survived. The site now, however, is not perfect and it is not how it was when hacked. Your experience should be OK. Most of the links are not broken but some are. For those  I apologize and over time, I will make them better.  Thanks for your patience.  The lead article is from 2016 when President Trump was first elected. Remember please that it is more important to love America today than it is to hate Donald Trump. God bless you and thanks for visiting. Come back again, please.

Brian Kelly's 58th book helps Wilkes-Barre residents know that their City can come back!

Those who followed the recent Wilkes-Barre Mayoral race know that Brian Kelly of Wilkes-Barre was one of four candidates on the ballot in the Democratic Primary. Thinking about how to differentiate his candidacy, Kelly thought deeply about what it would take to turn Wilkes-Barre, unfortunately a dying city, into something special again.

Kelly wondered how his mayorship could help make Wilkes-Barre into a great city again? As he recounts talking to many people about his plans, few felt Wilkes-Barre had much of a chance. Yet, most were happy Kelly thought that good things could happen with good leadership.

Brian Kelly devised a lot of notions about how Wilkes-Barre could return to its former glory. He wrote them all down. Additionally, Brian thought of a number of stories from his own life from childhood on. These stories highlighted the wonderment of this City, and he wrote them down also.

Congratulations Mayor George

Congratulations are due to our new Mayor Tony George who defeated Frank Sorick in a clean fight on Tuesday Nov. 3. Let's all help Tony help Wilkes-Barre.

The Wilkes-Barre Mayoral race is about to heat up

Tony George and Frank Sorick will be duking it out publicly in a few weeks and the people of Wilkes-Barre will be the beneficiaries as long as the fight is clean. Both are upstanding men so I would expect that there will be no under the belt jabs and both candidates will fight the good fight so the people can see what they are all about.

"Surprise!!! Nobody Is Responsible for Dilapidation and Disrepair at Coughlin, Meyers, Mackin, etc."?"

Press Release:

June 18, 2015

The Wilkes-Barre Area School Board, after going through the motions pretending it was not a Dunn Deal, on Wednesday June 10, 2015, finally announced their plans to build a brand spanking new high school. They not only made a poor decision, they made it worse by picking the smallest spot available where Coughlin now stands.

How do we provide reliable drinking and irrigation water for the USA forever? Ask a problem solver!

June 2, 2015  ****** PRESS RELEASE ******

Those who followed my recent mayoral campaign and especially those who have read my recent book, Wilkes-Barre PA: Return to Glory, know that I believe in dreaming about solutions to problems; forming realistic ideas from dreams; creating accomplishable plans from ideas; and finally executing plans that will deliver the desired results. As a self-described problem solver, that is my approach. Solutions do not merely appear on the horizon or on Twitter or Facebook. They are part of a problem solving process.

What prompts me to write this essay is...

Can a regular guy with no political connections but a strong background get elected to dog catcher in Wilkes-Barre?

Hi

From my personal experience in the recent primary election, I am probably the wrong person to ask. Let me say that I think it is highly unlikely. Obviously, I did not think this when I entered the race.

Violent Crime Control Recommendations for City of Wilkes-Barre--Report

Brian Kelly's Crime Control & Safety Recommendations as Mayor Of Wilkes-Barre

The number one issue facing Wilkes-Barre is violent drug related crime. Our City has other issues such as affordability and cleanliness and some other concerns for sure; but violent gang-drug-thug crime is definitely number one. Bringing back the same people to work on this problem is definitely not going to solve the problem or a plan would already be on the table and the problem would be well on its way to being solved. This is not the case.

         ****** PRESS RELEASE ******

Note to Press: You may print this as an entire essay or you may excerpt parts for your needs. This essay was written by Brian Kelly, a candidate for Mayor of Wilkes-Barre.

MAYOR AND COUNCIL HAVE FAILED IN THE PROPER POLICE RESPONSE TO OUR CRIME PROBLEM

Mayor Leighton; Councilmen Brown and George, both candidates for Mayor; and the rest of Council, have failed to act proactively when it comes to fighting crime. It seems everyone at City Hall--Mayor, Council and former Police Chief Tony George seem to think that saturation patrols are the answer to this crime wave of murder. According to the Mayor, they have been conducting saturation patrols for several years- and it has not been working. I am laying out a plan to fight for my City and my Neighbors.

The current Mayor and City Council members have failed in the proper police response to our crime problem, and more importantly, they have failed to professionalize the Police Department.  Police professionalism starts with the individual and it carries on into the officers' interactions with their family, friends, and the public. It is a shame that we are reading about some police officers going to jail while criminals are killing people in our streets!

MAYORAL CANDIDATE KELLY INAUGURATES SOAPBOX SPEECHES IN THE PARK SERIES

For almost two months, Brian Kelly has been begging City Hall, the Wilkes-Barre Press, Wilkes-Barre Ballrooms--such as Genettis, the local colleges, etc. to permit the local candidates to speak to the people. Kelly says nobody with a nice room seems interested in hosting anybody without money.

Brian Kelly has written to Mayor Leighton to permit all candidates to speak at City Hall so the people could hear them all for all offices without it costing anything. Too bad, the Mayor said it was illegal. Therefore, Brian Kelly has chosen to do it by himself, free of charge for all the people of Wilkes-Barre.

So far as Kelly knows, setting up a soap box in a park in Wilkes-Barre is still free.

OUTSMARTING THE BAD GUYS IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO WILKES-BARRE'S GANG PROBLEM!

Note to Press: This entire essay was written by Brian Kelly without a spokesperson. Feel free to use it in its entirety or quote any section within context.

Citing a crisis of lawlessness, former Wilkes-Barre Police Chief Tony George on Monday pressed Mayor Thomas Leighton to restore law and order to the City of Wilkes-Barre in the wake of one of its most vicious weekends to date. Tony George suggests massive saturation patrols as a part of a major answer to this past weekend of murder. Just one of the five candidates for Mayor was not consulted--the police chief who chose to retire in 2003, when things were getting tough.

Neither Darlene Duggins-Magdalinski, George Brown, Frank Sorick nor Brian Kelly were consulted by the press, apparently because none have a police background. I would not claim that carrying a loaded forty-five calibre pistol on Eastern US Military Posts would qualify me as a gang crime expert. More than likely, Tony would not consider being a chief in 2003 as a major qualifications as a gang and drug crime expert either. Your call!

JFK Democratic Mayoral Candidate Announces Write-In Campaign for Republican Voters

         ****** PRESS RELEASE ******

Mayoral Candidate Brian Kelly Announces a Write-In Campaign for Republican Voters

Brian Kelly, a JFK (conservative) Democrat, who is on the Democratic Ballot in the May 19, 2015 Pennsylvania primary is asking for Republicans to write-in their vote for Brian Kelly for Mayor of Wilkes-Barre. The process is quite simple. For Republicans with one Republican candidate on the ballot should look below or above this name of "other" as a choice. Pick this instead of the named candidate. Since the voting machine is a computer, it will create a keyboard like one of your smart phones and invite you to type in a candidate's name. In this area type, Brian Kelly and close the box in the manner constructed, and then move on to other candidates for other offices. Democrats do not have to write in Kelly's name as he is on the official ballot for Mayor.

Brian Kelly is a JFK Democrat, with Wilkes-Barre sane and conservative values. Kelly is for the people, not for the politicians or the elite leaders in either political party. Unlike the favorites in the race, Kelly has never served in public office and has never been employed by government in any capacity.

He is a recognized expert in large IBM computers, systems, and software, having served the IBM Corporation for 23 plus years as a Senior Systems Engineer.

How important is it to know somebody in Wilkes-Barre politics to have a favored life?

If you know nobody-- know me -- I am you!

Brian Kelly writes:

"If you know nobody in Wilkes-Barre and you have heard that nothing happens in Wilkes-Barre unless you know somebody, remember that I know nobody either, and you are the perfect person that I am looking for. I am not for the politicos who have taken our city to the edge of doom. I ask you to vote for me to be your Mayor because again, I know nobody either, and none of us should have to know anybody in government to be treated like human beings and to have the same rights as those who know a somebody."

Press Release: Wilkes-Barre, PA Return to Glory!

Let's Go Publish! apologizes to the press and the public for our not being able to count as well as we should. Upon further examination, we found that in our internal list of Brian W. Kelly's books, we had included a book twice in his long list of books. This gave the impression that this new book is Mr. Kelly's 59th book. It is in fact, his 58th.

We regret this mistake, but nobody more than Brian Kelly regrets it more as the author was expecting that his next book would be his 60th book. Now, he has to keep his pen out for at least a few more months.
